Bellydance Classes in Northampton

Registration Information

Bellydance classes are fun and rewarding, allowing you to gain a new skill set, become more comfortable with your body, develop an appreciation of Middle Eastern dance, music, and culture, and meet new friends. 

​All classes provide a safe and inclusive environment for students to learn bellydance and are open to people of all sizes, backgrounds, and genders, age 13 and up.

Class Tuition

Tuition can be paid by cash, check, credit or debit card, or paypal.  Class registrations are non-refundable.  There are no make-ups for missed classes. Tuition is due by the start of the first class in the session.  If you are registering after the start of the session the tuition will be prorated.

Sahina is happy to provide gift certificates if you are purchasing a class registration as a gift. There is also a button to purchase general gift certificates for set amounts at the bottom of this page. Custom gift certificates are available as well.

Location

Classes are held at Studio Helix at 150 Main St # 4 (in Thornes Marketplace) in Northampton. Please see the map below for location information and directions.

Fall 2018 Class Schedule

Day/time Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm, Sept 11-Nov 13, except Oct 2
Location Studio Helix in Northampton
Topic Candle Dance Choreography
Description We will be working on a lovely choreography with hand candles. Note: For insurance reasons we will be using electric candles, not fire.  All enrolled students are invited to perform in the Dancing into the Dark Student Showcase (date TBD), and are required to attend 75% of classes in order to perform.
Levels 2 and 3, prerequisites are completion of level 1, some experience in level 2, or consent of instructor.
Tuition $144 (9 classes), $18 per class drop in. Drop ins only possible during first 3 weeks, space permitting.

Topic Sassy Drum Solo Choreography
Description Learn a fast and fiery drum solo choreography which will increase your bellydance movement vocabulary and muscle control by combining sassy style, percussive movements, and sharp accents.  All enrolled students are invited to perform in the Dancing into the Dark Student Showcase (date TBD), and are required to attend 75% of classes in order to perform.
Levels 1 and 2, no prior bellydance experience necessary. Optional layers will be taught for Level 2 students.
Tuition $160 (10 classes), $18 per class drop in. Drop ins only possible during first 3 weeks, space permitting.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates can be used for any classes, workshops, or private lessons. There are 3 preset amounts, or you can email me if you would like to do a custom amount. Gift certificates will be sent as an electronic version unless a paper version is requested.

Private Lesson Packages

Private lessons are a great way to get extra help with in-class material, work on solo projects and performance skills, or fine tune your dance technique. Studio rental is NOT included in the following packages.

Studio Helix

Studio Helix is located on the 3rd floor of Thorne's Marketplace at 150 Main St. in downtown Northampton. The easiest place to park is the attached parking garage which is behind the building. The third floor of the garage has a walkway into Thorne's. From where you go into the building the studio is up 2 flights of stairs (confusingly the 3rd floor of the garage connects to the 1st floor of Thornes!). If you take the elevator the studio will be right in front of you on the right when you get out.
